The Brief
Initially beginning with development of an augmented reality app by the client, they wanted to elevate their offering by looking to develop a usable product for public use in museums. The design of a robust and ergonomic enclosure was needed to house a miniature tablet device, programmed to animate exhibits captured through it’s front facing camera.
Our Response
The product solution was an enclosure designed to house the tablet device. Using 3D printing and low volume manufacturing methods a batch of 20 devices, plus a set of docking stations were designed and made to trial the product in select museums.
The product well received and used in National Museum Wales to bring exibits to life including the French impressionist exhibit and Dinosaur & underwater life experiences.
